Wild Lettuce extract tincture is made from Lactuca virosa and is more than just lettuce grown in the wild; it a specific species of plant used frequently in herbal medicine. Wild lettuce (Lactuca virosa) is closely related to dandelion and is believed to have sedative and analgesic (pain-relieving) effects. It is often used as a natural remedy for stress, chronic pain and coughs.
Wild lettuce is used for whooping cough, asthma, urinary tract problems, cough, trouble sleeping (insomnia), restlessness, excitability in children, painful menstrual periods, excessive sex drive in women (nymphomania), muscular or joint pains, poor circulation, swollen genitals in men (priapism), and as an Opium substitute in cough preparations.
